What We Do
At NSP, we study early relational health through the lens of emotional connection, and its impact on babies, children, and families. We are working to develop the tools for the next wave of pediatrics to observe, study, and implement protocols to promote and support whole-family health and resilience.
This includes observing emotional connection, implementing evidence-based protocols that improve early relational health, and studying the effects of improving early relational health on child and parent/caregiver outcomes.
Mission Statement
In collaboration with key academic, nonprofit, and community partners across and beyond Columbia University, we aim to usher in a new era in pediatrics—one in which pediatricians have the evidence, training, and tools to study and support emotional connection between children and their families, toward a future of physical health and social wellbeing.
